Adjutant General, Texas Military Forces –
Major General John F. Nichols
Major General John F. Nichols became the 51st Adjutant General for the State of Texas on February 17, 2011. He is responsible to the Texas Governor for providing ready trained forces of the Texas Army Guard, the Texas Air Guard, the Texas State Guard, and the Adjutant General's Department, better known as the Texas Military Forces, in support of state operations. He is also responsible to the President of the U.S. for providing ready trained forces of the Texas Army Guard and the Texas Air Guard in support of federal missions.
Assistant Adjutant General - Army –
Brigadier General Joyce L. Stevens
Brigadier General Joyce L. Stevens is the Assistant Adjutant General-Army for Texas and Commander of the Texas Army National Guard. She supervises the operations, training and readiness, and resource allocation for both state and federal missions. She serves as the principal advisor to the Adjutant General on all matters concerning the Texas Army National Guard.

Chief, Joint Staff –
Colonel Connie McNabb serves as the Chief, Joint Staff. Col McNabb is principal administrative assistant to the Adjutant General. She provides technical and administrative assistance to the Adjutant General and Assistant Adjutants General. Col McNabb promulgates compliance and support of the Adjutant General's Vision, Mission, and Goals for the Texas Military Forces. Col McNabb oversees and directs the multi-component directorate staff of the Adjutant General's Department in the administration, coordination, planning, development, execution and evaluation of programs, and supervision of all Texas National Guard activities within the state. She represents the Adjutant General's Department in meetings, conferences and briefings with federal, state and international military and civilian representatives.
Senior Enlisted Advisor –
Command Sergeant Major Juan G. Morales
Command Sergeant Major Juan G. Morales is the Senior Enlisted Advisor for the Texas Military Forces. He assumed the position on 1 November 2008, and is stationed at Camp Mabry, Austin, Texas. As the State Senior Enlisted Advisor, he is responsible for advising the Adjutant General of Texas on all matters pertaining to enlisted Soldiers/ Airmen of the Texas Army National Guard, the Texas Air National Guard, and the Texas State Guard. Command Sergeant Major Morales is also responsible for Soldier/ Airmen welfare and morale, promotion policies, military education, uniform policies, family readiness/ support group operations and the condition and maintenance of facilities within the Texas Military Forces.
